Commercial & Contract Manager

About the role

Buro Happold is seeking a legally qualified professional with strong commercial acumen to join its Saudi Arabia team as a Commercial & Contract Manager. You will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of engineering and advisory projects across the Kingdom.

Key responsibilities

• Review, negotiate and finalise a range of contractual documents, including consultancy, sub‑consultancy, collateral warranty, novation agreements and letters of intent.
• Provide clear, pragmatic legal and commercial advice to minimise risk across the KSA project portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, internal policies and Saudi legal frameworks.
• Support claims and dispute management, coordinating with insurers and external counsel as needed.
• Develop and improve systems, processes and procedures for the Commercial & Legal team.
• Review bids and contracts for LCGPA and local content compliance, aligning with KSA government procurement laws.
• Manage insurance requests, liaise with local brokers and maintain accurate records of Certificates of Insurance.
• Identify project risks, advise on variations and change orders, and attend client meetings to resolve contractual issues.

Required profile

• Legal qualification with 2–7 years post‑qualification experience.
• Experience in consultancy or engineering law is preferred; strong general commercial law experience also considered.
