Data Center Facility Engineer – Mechanical

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a hands‑on Data Center Facility Engineer (Mechanical) to operate and maintain the mechanical and electrical infrastructure of its global data centers. You will join a multidisciplinary team focused on safety, reliability, and cost‑effective operation of critical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate UPS, switchgear, circuit breakers, ATS, diesel generators, chillers, HVAC, exhaust fans, VFDs, and transformers.
• Perform facility and rack‑level troubleshooting within internal SLAs.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and drive corrective actions.
• Lead safety initiatives, remediate safety risks, and foster a world‑class safety culture.
• Innovate to reduce operational costs while ensuring high availability.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with electrical and mechanical equipment in a data‑center or industrial environment.
• Ability to work rotational 12‑hour shifts (2 days day, 2 days night, 4 days off) and respond to on‑call incidents.
• Strong focus on safety procedures and compliance.
