Math Special Educator

About the role

The Math Special Educator will design and deliver individualized math instruction for students with special needs, ensuring progress through targeted interventions and comprehensive assessments.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Math IEPs and school assessments tailored to each child.
• Conduct math intervention sessions and assess students with pre‑ and post‑tests.
• Complete case‑study forms documenting strengths, weaknesses and recommended programs.
• Provide clear feedback to parents during testing meetings and daily communication.
• Deliver one‑on‑one instruction while maintaining rapport and connectedness.
• Analyze data from feedback, progress tests and trainer flow sheets to meet a target of at least two year‑level gains per child.
• Maintain organized student folders, including data sheets and evaluations.
• Adhere to CARF standards and all employer policies.
• Utilize technology tools such as Microsoft Teams, Planner, OneDrive, Zoom and email for coordination and documentation.
