Quality Specialist (Nuclear QA)

About the role

The Quality Specialist will support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance programs for nuclear operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards while collaborating with engineering, operations, and project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Support the creation and upkeep of QA programs in line with NRC, DOE, and ASME NQA‑1 standards.
• Conduct internal audits, inspections, and assessments to verify procedural and regulatory compliance.
• Review quality documentation such as inspection records, test reports, and supplier qualifications.
• Identify root causes of non‑conformances and assist with corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Monitor supplier performance and participate in vendor audits when required.
• Maintain accurate QA records and ensure proper document‑control processes.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to enhance quality, safety, and operational performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Nuclear Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in quality assurance or quality control within the nuclear industry or other regulated technical environments.
• Knowledge of nuclear quality standards such as NQA‑1, ISO 9001, DOE O 414.1.
• Strong understanding of inspection methods, QA documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience with audits, NCR/CAPA processes, and supplier quality management.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem‑solving abilities.
