Senior Project Manager - Stadium Experience

About the role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager with FIFA stadium experience to lead and oversee design projects for stadiums and associated precinct facilities. The role manages the full design lifecycle, ensuring compliance with FIFA technical recommendations, host‑nation building codes, accessibility standards, and safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design management process from concept through detailed design, tender and construction support.
• Ensure all design output complies with FIFA Football Stadium Technical Recommendations, local codes, and safety guidelines.
• Manage architects, engineers and specialist consultants (structural, MEP, pitch, broadcast, IT/ICT, security, sustainability, etc.).
• Coordinate spectator‑experience requirements such as seating geometry, capacity, hospitality, media facilities and operational zones.
• Develop and maintain the design programme, track milestones and manage interfaces between design, procurement and construction.
• Control design risk, value engineering and change while protecting design intent and budget.
• Chair design coordination meetings, approve drawings and maintain document‑control trails.
• Liaise with clients, tournament organisers, governing bodies and authorities to secure approvals.
• Oversee BIM coordination, clash‑detection and integration across disciplines.
• Integrate sustainability and legacy conversion requirements into the design strategy.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or a related field; master’s degree and/or professional registration (e.g., RIBA, PMP, chartered status) highly desirable.
• 15+ years of design management experience on major buildings or infrastructure, with proven delivery of FIFA stadium projects.
• Working knowledge of FIFA stadium technical requirements and standards of other governing bodies (UEFA, AFC, IOC).
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary consultant teams and large, complex design programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
