Tunnel Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Tunnel Design Engineer to support a resort development project in AlUla. The successful candidate will apply their expertise in tunnel and underground structure design to deliver safe, cost‑effective solutions that meet international standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and analysis of tunnels and underground structures in line with project requirements and international codes.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, calculation reports and technical documentation.
• Support geotechnical assessments, alignment studies and develop construction methodologies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including geotechnical, structural and construction engineers.
• Review technical sub‑mittals to ensure compliance with design specifications.
• Provide engineering support during construction phases as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in tunnel and/or underground works design.
• Familiarity with tunnel design methods such as NATM, TBM and Cut & Cover.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design and analysis software: PLAXIS, MIDAS, FLAC, Rocscience and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of relevant international codes and standards for tunnel design.
