Architect of Record

About the role

The Architect of Record (AoR) is responsible for securing timely approvals from Saudi government authorities for complex building projects. Working closely with design project managers, lead architects and multidisciplinary teams, the AoR ensures that all documentation meets the stringent requirements of municipalities, civil defence, and other regulatory bodies.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain building permits and occupation certificates for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial projects.
• Coordinate submission packages with authorities such as Municipalities, Amana, Baladiya, Civil Defence, RCRC and DGDA.
• Maintain strong professional relationships with key staff in all relevant authorities.
• Manage project data, ensure drawings and renderings meet required format, content and quality standards.
• Participate in design reviews and presentations, and liaise with internal disciplines (architecture, fire safety, MEP, quantity surveying).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Saudi Council of Engineer (SCE) certification.
• Minimum 7 years of AoR experience within a Saudi design consultancy.
• Saudi citizenship.
• Extensive knowledge of Saudi government authority requirements, building codes and approval processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
