Assistant Manager – Data Engineering

About the role

Red Sea Global is seeking an Assistant Manager – Data Engineering to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure within SAP Data Sphere. The role collaborates closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑quality data solutions that support the organization’s data‑driven initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Create datasets and implement business logic in SAP Data Sphere, and build visualizations using SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines that transform raw data into analytics‑ready formats.
• Collaborate with data architects to design data models and integrate diverse data sources.
• Design and optimise data storage solutions such as data lakes, warehouses, and cloud‑based systems.
• Ensure data quality through testing, validation, and monitoring, and enforce data governance policies.
• Support data scientists by providing structured data for analytics and machine‑learning models.
• Engage with internal technology, data‑science, and BI teams as well as external vendors to align data solutions with business goals.
• Troubleshoot data‑related issues and provide technical support to end users.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects.
• Strong understanding of data analytics and machine‑learning concepts.

Required skills

• Proficiency in SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud.
• Experience with SAP S/4, SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors.
• Knowledge of SAP BW or other data‑warehouse solutions.
• Expertise in designing ETL processes and data pipelines.
• Hands‑on experience with data lakes, data warehouses and cloud‑based storage.
• Familiarity with data governance and data‑quality best practices.
