BIM Design Engineer

About the role

The BIM Design Engineer will lead full‑discipline MEP BIM modelling and coordination for complex construction projects. You will translate design standards and on‑site conditions into constructible BIM deliverables, reducing clashes and rework.

Key responsibilities

• Create comprehensive MEP BIM models covering plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire protection, ventilation and civil‑defence systems and integrate them with architectural and structural models.
• Perform system coordination, layout optimisation and clash detection using Navisworks and related tools.
• Produce detailed deepening designs for plant rooms, service shafts, corridors, basements and equipment floors, ensuring constructability.
• Generate BIM deliverables such as composite layout drawings, single‑discipline deepening drawings, clash reports, quantity take‑offs and technical briefing materials.
• Collaborate with design institutes, clients, supervising engineers, contractors and on‑site crews to review drawings, resolve issues and present solutions.
• Update models and drawings promptly based on stakeholder feedback and track issue resolution to final implementation.
• Provide on‑site BIM technical support, adjusting models and optimising solutions as construction progresses.
• Maintain version control, file naming conventions and proper archiving of all BIM models and documents.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of MEP drawing sets and construction sequencing.
• Proven experience in BIM modelling and clash detection for large‑scale projects.
• Ability to work independently, optimise designs and resolve technical issues on site.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with multidisciplinary teams.
