Business Development Manager – Water & Wastewater

About the role

METICHEM, a leader in advanced water treatment management, is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth of O&M contracts and PPP projects across Saudi Arabia and the wider region. The role combines commercial acumen with deep operational knowledge of water and wastewater treatment facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities in O&M and PPP projects within the water and wastewater sector.
• Design and execute business development strategies aligned with company growth targets.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, developers, government entities, consultants, off‑takers, and financiers.
• Prepare and present technical and commercial proposals, including pricing models, risk assessments, and transition plans.
• Conduct market research, monitor industry trends, competitor activity, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies.
• Lead contract negotiations ensuring profitability, operational feasibility, and effective risk management.
• Coordinate with O&M and internal teams for smooth project handover, mobilization, execution, and startup.
• Manage CRM systems, monitor pipeline performance, and report on KPIs, win rates, and profitability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of business development and proposal preparation experience in the water & wastewater industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of water treatment plants, including RO plants, STP, and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Proven experience with O&M projects and PPP frameworks in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic preferred.
