Can Decoration Mechanic

About the role

The Can Decoration Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing can decoration equipment to ensure smooth production and high‑quality printed cans. The role involves working closely with production operators to keep machinery running at optimal performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on presses, coaters, ovens and related machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components such as gears, bearings, cylinders and electrical controls.
• Execute equipment changeovers and adjustments for different can sizes and print designs.
• Monitor machines during operation to detect potential problems and ensure production specifications are met.
• Document all maintenance activities, repairs and parts usage accurately.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects aimed at equipment reliability and efficiency.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or technical degree in mechanics, electrical or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing environment, preferably with decorating or printing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physical ability to lift heavy objects, stand for long periods and work in a factory setting.
