Chief Steward

About the role

The Chief Steward will lead the stewarding department at Rixos Obhur Jeddah, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene, safety, and operational efficiency across all food & beverage outlets. This senior position requires hands‑on leadership, budget control, and close collaboration with other departments to deliver a seamless guest experience.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full compliance with Saudi Arabian hygiene, occupational health, and safety regulations, including HACCP standards.
• Control breakages and losses by monitoring inventory, providing feedback, and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage operating expenses, payroll, and flexible workforce scheduling to stay within budget.
• Participate in the preparation of the Annual Operating Budget, equipment, and FF&E forecasts.
• Supervise, coach, and schedule stewarding staff, ensuring visible leadership during peak periods and major events.
• Oversee accurate inventory management and enforce strict cost controls.

Required profile

• HACCP certification and thorough knowledge of local food safety regulations.
• Proven experience in stewarding or food‑service operations, preferably in a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to train and motivate a diverse team.
• Ability to analyze costs, manage budgets, and implement efficient scheduling.
