Civil Design Lead

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm operating in 100 countries, is looking for an experienced Civil Design Lead to join its Jeddah office in Saudi Arabia. The role leads the civil design function, directing a team of civil engineers and designers so that infrastructure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to specification.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of civil engineers and design professionals in a collaborative environment
• Develop civil design strategies and solutions aligned with organizational objectives
• Oversee detailed design drawings, specifications and construction documentation using industry-standard CAD software
• Analyse site conditions, run feasibility studies and give technical recommendations for project optimization
• Ensure designs comply with Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations and international standards
• Manage project timelines, budgets and resource allocation
• Coordinate with stakeholders, clients and regulatory authorities to obtain approvals
• Quality-assure design deliverables and set design standards and procedures
• Take part in project planning meetings and stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies

Required profile

• Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in civil design and engineering
• Proven experience leading and managing engineering teams
• Expertise in infrastructure project design (roads, utilities, drainage, site development)
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building codes and regulatory requirements
• Project management skills, ability to handle multiple projects, and stakeholder and client management
• Budget and resource management, and knowledge of construction documentation
• Preferred: civil engineering certification or licensure, and experience with infrastructure projects in the Middle East
