Commercial Department Manager

About the role

The Commercial Department Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the Marks & Spencer store within Al-Futtaim’s retail portfolio. The role focuses on delivering strong sales performance, exceptional customer service, and efficient stock management in the food and hospitality sector.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing and activities to meet the sales plan and ensure proper coverage across the store.
• Participate in commercial walk‑rounds with the Store Manager and address any operational issues.
• Maintain optimal stock levels, manage deliveries, and apply FIFO principles to ensure shelf availability.
• Implement corporate layouts, planograms, and phase changes to align with brand standards.
• Ensure all service zones and tills are adequately resourced to meet customer demand.
• Handle customer queries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
• Model and reinforce the ‘Service – Doing the Right Thing’ behaviours across the team.
• Monitor trading standards, hygiene, and compliance activities, including locker checks and dual‑control procedures.
• Drive profitability through cost control, loss minimisation, and efficient operations.

Required profile

• Proven experience in retail or food‑service management, preferably within a large multi‑brand environment.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and customer‑focused attitude.
• Ability to analyse sales data and translate insights into actionable plans.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and compliance.
