Commis – Full‑Time Food Preparation

About the role

Join Marriott International as a Commis at our Ummahat Islands resort, supporting the culinary team in delivering high‑quality meals for guests. This full‑time, non‑management position focuses on food preparation, cooking, and kitchen sanitation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure, and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble dishes, ensuring quality, presentation, and adherence to food‑preparation checklists.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely.
• Monitor cooking progress, test doneness, and maintain temperature control of appliances and food.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain a clean, disinfected kitchen environment.
• Follow company safety policies, report hazards, and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related food‑service or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and perform repetitive kitchen tasks.
