Cost Control Engineer

About the role

The Cost Control Engineer will monitor and manage project expenditures to ensure delivery within the approved budget. Working closely with project, procurement, commercial and finance teams, you will provide accurate cost reporting and forecasting for large‑scale construction and EPC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Track actual costs, commitments, accruals and forecast future expenditures.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, EAC and ETC analyses and present cost performance updates to project management.
• Analyse cost variances, identify overruns and propose savings opportunities.
• Review purchase orders, sub‑contracts, invoices and payment applications to ensure proper cost allocation.
• Coordinate with procurement, commercial, finance and project teams for accurate cost data.
• Monitor approved changes, variations and claims and assess their impact on the budget.
• Maintain the project cost breakdown structure and support cash‑flow forecasting.
• Identify cost risks and assist in developing mitigation plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance, Accounting or related field.
• 3–8 years of cost control experience in construction, EPC or infrastructure projects.
• Experience on large‑scale Saudi Arabia/GCC projects is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or AACE are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Experience using cost control or project management software.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities for cost variance analysis.
