Costing & Estimation Engineer – Metal Fabrication

About the role

We are looking for a Costing & Estimation Engineer to lead accurate pricing, cost control, and tender preparation for steel and aluminum metal works. The role is critical to delivering error‑free quotations, realistic technical proposals, and strong profit margins.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse RFQs, drawings, BOQs and specifications to produce detailed cost estimates for steel, aluminum and MEP‑related products.
• Perform material take‑offs (MTO) with high accuracy and submit commercial and technical quotations.
• Develop cost breakdowns covering raw materials, labour, finishing, overheads and logistics, ensuring market relevance and margin protection.
• Validate technical feasibility, confirming material availability and preventing non‑available or incorrect specifications.
• Coordinate with sales, production and procurement teams to accelerate quotations and verify manufacturability.
• Source supplier quotations, maintain up‑to‑date steel and aluminum price databases, and conduct market analysis.
• Identify value‑engineering opportunities, proposing alternative materials or modular solutions.
• Maintain costing sheets in Odoo, track estimated vs actual costs, and build an internal costing standards library.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in steel and aluminum fabrication estimation.
• Proven ability to work with technical drawings and specifications.
