Defects Liability Period (DLP) Snagging Engineer

About the role

The DLP & Snagging Engineer provides engineering‑focused support for Defects Liability Period (DLP) and snagging activities across assigned assets. The role ensures defects are identified, assessed, tracked and closed in line with contractual obligations, safety standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver day‑to‑day DLP and snagging engineering support, logging and prioritising defects, incomplete works and operational readiness issues.
• Conduct inspections, joint walkthroughs and defect verification visits with project teams, consultants, contractors and service providers.
• Maintain accurate defect and snag registers, assigning clear ownership, priority, target dates and evidence for each item.
• Monitor contractor performance, warranty issues and recurring defects, escalating critical concerns to the DLP & Snagging Manager.
• Support asset handover by reviewing O&M manuals, asset registers, warranties, test records and compliance documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in construction completion, asset handover, DLP management or facilities management.
• Proven ability to coordinate contractors, consultants and service providers through defect identification, technical rectification and warranty management.
