Electrical Design Lead - Airport Infrastructure

About the role

Egis, an international engineering, consulting and construction firm active in architecture, mobility services and sustainable infrastructure, is looking for an experienced Electrical Design Lead in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The role oversees the electrical design of complex airport infrastructure projects, leading a team of electrical engineers and designers while ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design team in developing comprehensive MEP designs for airport terminals, including power distribution, lighting, fire safety and emergency backup systems
• Analyse project requirements and develop detailed electrical design solutions meeting operational needs, safety standards and sustainability goals
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing and architectural teams to integrate all MEP systems
• Manage the design process from concept through construction documentation, keeping to schedule and budget
• Review and approve drawings, specifications and calculations for accuracy and compliance
• Mentor junior engineers and designers
• Ensure designs comply with Saudi building codes, international airport standards and regulations
• Use BIM and advanced design software to create coordinated, clash-free models
• Communicate design decisions and project status to stakeholders, clients and project managers
• Take part in design reviews, value engineering and problem-solving sessions

Required profile

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in electrical design and systems
• Experience designing electrical systems for airport projects preferred
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring staff
• Knowledge of Saudi building regulations and international airport design standards
• Preferred: LEED accreditation, experience with energy modelling and sustainable electrical design, and knowledge of airport terminal systems
