About the role
You will work across the full Linux stack, from kernel to GUI, to optimise Ubuntu for the latest silicon on IoT and server platforms. The position is fast‑paced, problem‑solving and fully remote, partnering with silicon vendors and customers worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement Ubuntu integration for the newest IoT and server‑class hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with silicon partners to deliver a delightful, optimised Ubuntu experience on their platforms.
- Define technical plans, testing strategies and quality metrics for partner platforms.
- Act as technical lead on complex customer engagements covering cloud‑to‑edge system architectures.
- Assist customers in integrating applications, SDKs, building device OS images and optimising workloads with Ubuntu Core, Desktop and Server.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM or a related discipline.
- Experience with Linux packaging systems such as Debian, RPM and Yocto.
- Proven involvement with open‑source communities and licensing.
- Proficiency in C and C++ programming languages.
- Self‑discipline and motivation to work effectively in a globally distributed team.
