General Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a qualified General Accountant to join our Finance Department. The successful candidate will maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and support tax and zakat reporting. This role is essential for the efficiency and accuracy of our financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries accurately and on time.
• Prepare and review payment, receipt, and journal vouchers before approval.
• Verify that supporting documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with company policies.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
• Calculate withholding tax for non‑resident suppliers and file related tax reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure balances match accounting records.
• Monitor accounts receivable and payable, conducting periodic reconciliations with customers and suppliers.
• Maintain fixed‑asset records and process depreciation entries.
• Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in general accounting.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Effective communication skills in both Arabic and English.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and journal entry preparation.
• Understanding of VAT, Zakat, Withholding Tax, and ZATCA regulations.
• Experience with ERP accounting systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, financial formulas).
• Bank reconciliation expertise.
• Accounts receivable and payable reconciliation skills.
