General Physician – Internal Medicine

About the role

The General Physician in Internal Medicine provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care within Fakeeh Care facilities. The role involves thorough patient assessment, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring documentation meets regulatory and insurance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Interview and evaluate patients, obtain detailed medical, medication, socioeconomic, psychological and functional histories, and perform physical examinations.
• Document findings, clinical information, and progress notes, including assessment and care plans.
• Conduct daily rounds on assigned wards, communicate with attending physicians, and coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic tasks.
• Respond promptly to medical complaints, manage patients with specialist assistance, and ensure appropriate use of advanced diagnostic tests.
• Complete handovers, discharge summaries, and transfer forms in accordance with Fakeeh Care policies.
• Participate in departmental meetings, quality and patient‑safety activities, and continuous medical education.
• When assigned to surgical, obstetrics‑gynecology, or pediatric wards, perform pre‑operative assessments, assist in surgeries, provide obstetric care, and manage pediatric patients as required.

Required profile

• Effective verbal and listening communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational, stress‑management and Microsoft Office proficiency.
• One year of clinical experience (internship) in a recognized hospital or health centre.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Surgery or equivalent from an accredited institution.
• Excellent command of oral and written English; Arabic preferred.
• Valid medical practice license from the regional health authority (e.g., SCFHS/DHA) and a BLS certificate.
