Head of Internal Technology and AI

About the role

Ektis is seeking a senior leader to head its internal technology and AI function across the GCC. The role will ensure that every internal department has the tools, data, and technical support required to operate efficiently while driving automation, AI adoption, and cost‑effective technology services.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a prioritized AI delivery plan, maintain a reusable AI skill library, and train staff on approved AI tools.
• Lead the full software development lifecycle – from requirements gathering and architecture to testing, deployment, and retirement – while enforcing code quality, version control, and automated testing standards.
• Oversee daily IT operations, including cloud infrastructure, ERP/HR/CRM systems, incident response, backup, and recovery processes.
• Manage the end‑to‑end lifecycle of laptops, mobile devices and other assets using Microsoft Intune and mobile device management, ensuring security and compliance.
• Establish AI and technology governance aligned with ISO/IEC 42001 and ISO/IEC 27001, handling risk assessments, access controls, and audit evidence.
• Control technology spend across cloud services, AI usage, software licences and supplier contracts, driving efficiency and avoiding unnecessary costs.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading internal technology or IT functions in a fast‑growing organization.
• Strong understanding of AI governance, security standards (ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 42001) and risk management.
• Demonstrated ability to build and develop high‑performing technical teams and manage external service providers.

• AI development and deployment (agents, workflows, model monitoring).
• Software engineering and full‑stack development lifecycle.
