Head of Security & Safety Department

About the role

The Head of Security & Safety Department leads the implementation of approved policies, processes and procedures across Riyad Bank’s security and safety functions. This senior position ensures that all activities are carried out in a controlled, compliant manner while providing guidance and oversight to sub‑ordinates.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor the departmental budget, addressing any variances.
• Oversee day‑to‑day security and safety operations, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations.
• Design and supervise security policies, procedures and equipment placement in bank facilities and branches.
• Test and validate security equipment, ensuring proper connection to central monitoring.
• Manage cash‑in‑transit security services and maintain on‑ground security presence.
• Lead cyber and information security risk mitigation and implement CIS requirements.
• Coordinate investigations of security breaches and fraud with Risk Management, Legal and HR.
• Supervise bank‑wide health and safety programs and contracts with external providers.
• Provide security, fire and loss‑prevention training to staff.
• Prepare accurate departmental reports and represent the function in committees.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
• Relevant security‑related military or police certifications, including facilities protection.
• Extensive experience in physical and cyber security within a financial institution.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets and negotiate contracts.
