Health Safety Environment Officer (Saudi National)

About the role

The Health Safety Environment Officer will coordinate the organisation's HSE systems, identify hazards, assess risks and implement controls to protect employees and the environment. This position reports to senior management and works closely with all operational teams across the site.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect all relevant locations regularly and ensure compliance with the HSE Manual, client standards and safe work practices.
• Monitor workforce HSE performance, conduct random and planned inspections, and report unsafe conditions.
• Implement and maintain HSE standards, issue work permits, decide on required PPE, prepare Job Safety Analyses and analyse behavioural safety data.
• Motivate employees to report hazards, unsafe acts, near‑misses and develop corrective actions.
• Promote safety campaigns, deliver toolbox talks and maintain training records.
• Ensure incidents are reported, investigated and documented according to company procedures.
• Review legal and contractual HSE obligations, report non‑compliance and follow up on corrective actions.
• Coordinate procurement of safety equipment, fire‑fighting appliances and first‑aid supplies.
• Authorize work stoppage when imminent danger exists and conduct emergency drills.

Required profile

• Saudi national with at least 5 years (60 months) of HSE experience.
• NEBOSH IGC or equivalent Level 3 health‑safety certification.
• Proven ability to conduct inspections, audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Strong communication skills to influence and train staff at all levels.
