HSE Manager

About the role

Majd Yanbu Industrial Company is building a state‑of‑the‑art copper rod manufacturing facility in Yanbu Industrial City. This is a unique opportunity to join a greenfield industrial project and help shape the health, safety, and environmental standards of a modern copper smelting and rolling facility.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the plant’s overall HSE function, setting strategy, objectives and the annual HSE plan for all areas of the plant.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve HSE policies, procedures and management systems such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
• Oversee and approve high‑risk work controls, including Permit to Work, Lockout/Tagout, confined‑space entry, work at height, excavation, lifting and hot work.
• Lead risk assessments, hazard identification (HAZID/HAZOP) and job safety analyses for furnace, smelting, casting and rolling operations.
• Direct incident, injury and near‑miss investigations, determine root causes and ensure closure of corrective actions.
• Lead the plant’s emergency response programme, including fire‑fighting readiness, evacuation planning, drills and coordination with Civil Defence.
• Manage and mentor the HSE team, set priorities, review inspection findings and build capability.
• Ensure contractor, third‑party and visitor HSE compliance from pre‑qualification through active work.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or a related field.
• 8–10+ years of HSE experience in industrial/heavy‑industry environments, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial HSE role.
• Strong knowledge of HSE management systems (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and their implementation.
• In‑depth understanding of high‑temperature process hazards and high‑risk activity controls.
• Proven experience leading incident investigations and emergency response programmes.
• Fluent in English and strong command of Microsoft Office and HSE reporting tools.
