Juju Software Engineer (Go)

About the role

Canonical is looking for a Go‑focused Software Engineer to join the Juju team, an open‑source project that powers model‑driven operations across public clouds, private clouds, Kubernetes, and bare‑metal environments. This is a fully remote position with occasional travel for team events.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support new features in a highly concurrent, distributed cloud‑automation system.
• Collaborate with a globally distributed engineering team using online tools.
• Debug production issues and engage with upstream open‑source communities.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and knowledge sharing.
• Travel up to four times a year for internal meetings and conferences.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing software in Go.
• Excellent written and spoken English, especially in remote collaboration settings.
• Strong academic record from high school and preferably university.
• Willingness to travel periodically for team events.
