Laboratory Chemist – Water Treatment

About the role

Aguas de Valencia Internacional, a global leader in water cycle management, is looking for a dedicated Laboratory Chemist to join its team in Taif. The role supports wastewater treatment plant operations and contributes to sustainable water management across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Perform chemical, biological, microbiological, and physical laboratory tests to support wastewater treatment plant operations.
• Collect samples following approved procedures and techniques.
• Analyze, interpret, and accurately record test results.
• Prepare and maintain laboratory records, documentation, and reports.
• Provide data and interpretation to support operational and treatment‑process decisions.
• Assist with special laboratory projects and testing activities as required.
• Ensure proper use of laboratory equipment and follow established techniques and procedures.
• Report occupational, environmental, safety, security, or quality incidents and support preventive and corrective actions.
• Comply with all applicable HSE requirements and laboratory safety procedures.
• Communicate laboratory findings clearly to supervisors and relevant team members.

Required profile

• Saudi nationality.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science or a related scientific discipline (Master’s degree is an advantage).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in wastewater or drinking water treatment laboratory environments.
• Proven experience in laboratory testing, sampling, analysis and reporting.
• Relevant professional licence or certification where applicable.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and commitment to accurate results.

Required skills

• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing techniques.
• Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and environmental/water‑quality testing.
• Computer literacy for handling laboratory data and information systems.
