Mechanical Engineer (Design) – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Design) to join a new PMO working on major highway and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering complex mechanical design solutions for tunnels, HVAC, plumbing and water systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform concept and detailed mechanical design tasks, extracting information from CAD drawings.
• Design tunnel ventilation, HVAC, plumbing, pipe sizing, and pump head calculations for chilled water, condenser water, filtration and booster systems.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, data sheets and other construction documents for procurement and construction.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and other departments.
• Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters and junior engineers.
• Review supplier submittals and conduct technical bid analyses.
• Advise senior management on engineering matters as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proven experience reviewing third‑party designs and coordinating approvals.
• Experience working in a multi‑discipline team environment.
• Proactive attitude to support overall PMO efficiency.

Required skills

• Mechanical design of ventilation, HVAC, plumbing and water systems.
• CAD proficiency for extracting and creating engineering drawings.
• Pipe sizing and pump head calculation expertise.
• Preparation of specifications, data sheets and construction documents.
• Technical bid analysis and supplier submittal review.
