Performance Engineer - Benchmarking

About the role

We are seeking a Performance Engineer specialized in benchmarking to join a forward‑thinking engineering team. Based in Saudi Arabia, you will design and enhance systems that measure, analyze, and improve the performance of complex distributed applications.

Key responsibilities

• Build and continuously improve benchmarking, profiling, and load‑testing platforms across cloud infrastructure, databases, and end‑to‑end environments.
• Design benchmark suites and reference workloads that reflect real‑world customer usage and evolve with product releases.
• Establish performance baselines, regression detection mechanisms, and measurement frameworks to ensure reliable results.
• Develop automated workflows that turn benchmark data into actionable insights, including regression triage and reproducible reports.
• Collaborate with database, infrastructure, and product engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and drive measurable performance improvements.
• Create self‑service testing capabilities and integrate benchmarking into development pipelines.
• Improve the reliability of load generators, benchmark environments, profiling processes, and analysis methods.
• Help communicate credible performance metrics internally and externally.

Required profile

• Proven experience in performance engineering, benchmarking, and profiling of complex distributed systems.
• Hands‑on experience building reproducible and accurate benchmarking systems.
• Strong understanding of systems architecture, including databases, storage, networking, and cloud platforms.
• Ability to analyze performance issues, pinpoint root causes, and deliver practical solutions.
• Experience creating performance tooling, automation workflows, and measurement frameworks.
• Comfortable collaborating across product, infrastructure, and engineering teams.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings.
