Purchasing Manager

About the role

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for procuring all food and non‑food items required for the hotel's operational needs. The role ensures that the best quality goods are obtained at the most competitive price while maintaining compliance with importing and receiving procedures. The manager works closely with department heads, the store keeper and other Accor properties to guarantee timely delivery and optimal stock management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor market trends, price changes and product availability to inform purchasing decisions.
• Obtain at least three quotations for each purchase request and involve the General Manager when necessary.
• Negotiate with suppliers, compare quality and price, and maintain up‑to‑date supplier records.
• Coordinate with the Executive Chef and department heads on quality, quantity and sample approvals.
• Work with the store keeper to ensure proper storage, FIFO handling and timely receipt of goods.
• Conduct regular market visits to assess shortages, seasonal variations and price fluctuations.
• Provide management with regular market updates and propose new products or alternatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience, including at least 3 years in a 5‑star hotel or luxury hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of importing procedures, purchasing dispositions and receiving processes.
• Ability to work independently, maintain accurate records and adhere to ethical purchasing standards.
