About the role
The Purchasing Officer acts as a bridge between internal departments and external vendors, ensuring the efficient sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high levels of communication and customer satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and sustain positive vendor relationships through clear, consistent communication.
- Coordinate with purchasing, accounts payable, receiving, and end‑users to align on purchasing needs and specifications.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline purchase order processing and document management.
- Create, review, and approve purchase orders in accordance with company policies, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Research and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery terms, and negotiate competitive pricing.
- Monitor purchase orders, manage delivery issues, and ensure timely resolution of vendor‑related problems.
- Track key performance indicators such as lead times and order accuracy.
Required profile
- Diploma or degree in Business Administration.
- 2–4 years of experience in purchasing or procurement.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with internal teams and managers.
- Ability to execute tasks efficiently, manage resources, and meet delivery schedules.
- Problem‑solving mindset with the capacity to escalate complex issues.
- Commitment to quality standards, business process compliance, and safety regulations.
