Senior Customs Expert

About the role

Tetra Pak is building a new global Customs & Import operating model to standardise processes, improve efficiency and leverage free‑trade agreements. As a Senior Customs Expert you will lead continuous improvement of import and export activities, ensuring compliance with Saudi regulations and supporting business continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison with local customs authorities and respond to their queries.
• Maintain relationships with free‑zone authorities, customs brokers and service providers.
• Manage import/export licences, permits, special authorisations and duty exemption programmes, including renewals.
• Submit and follow‑up duty exemption requests with governmental entities.
• Identify cost‑optimisation opportunities to reduce customs duty spend.
• Ensure compliance with Authorized Economic Operator, inward‑processing and outward‑processing regimes.
• Monitor and report relevant KPIs with internal and external partners.
• Streamline customs processes and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years (72 months) of experience in customs, trade compliance or related fields.
• Proven ability to work with regional and local teams on tactical customs operations.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills with government authorities and customs brokers.
• Experience in handling licences, permits and duty exemption programmes.
