Senior Instructor - Watersports

About the role

The Senior Instructor – Watersports leads on‑water instruction and ensures the safe, professional delivery of world‑class watersports experiences across WAMA operations. The role supervises instructors, upholds safety standards and drives exceptional guest experiences aligned with RSSE values. It also contributes to developing watersports capability in the Kingdom by guiding guests from introductory sessions to advanced training.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise instructors across watersports activities such as windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, SUP, kayaking and foiling.
• Oversee daily on‑water operations, ensuring safety, professionalism and compliance with SOPs and health & safety requirements.
• Deliver high‑quality instruction and coaching to guests of varying skill levels and act as a role model for safety and service excellence.
• Monitor weather and sea conditions, support operational decision‑making and ensure equipment is operated and maintained to standards.
• Support team training, mentoring, performance development and collect guest feedback for service recovery.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years’ experience instructing across multiple watersports, preferably in the Middle East.
• RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor or equivalent qualification.
• Paddle Sports / SUP Instructor qualification and RYA Powerboat Level 2.
• Team leadership or supervisory experience with a track record of delivering youth and adult programmes.
• Fluent English communication skills, cultural awareness and ability to work flexible weekends, holidays and variable hours.
