Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer

About the role

Penspen is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to lead the oversight of I&C engineering deliverables for major oil and gas projects in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The role involves ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards while supporting field verification and commissioning activities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee EPC contractor deliverables, reviewing instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams and control logic narratives.
• Validate integration of control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) with field instruments and evaluate vendor submittals, FAT procedures and technical deviations.
• Participate in design reviews to ensure operability, maintainability and HSE compliance of control systems.
• Support field verification, loop checks and commissioning activities.

Required profile

• At least 12 years of experience, including 6 years in instrumentation and control engineering on major oil & gas or petrochemical projects.
• Proven DCS experience and familiarity with ISA and IEC standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.
