Senior MEP Design Engineer – Water

About the role

Parsons is looking for a Senior MEP Design Engineer specializing in water systems to lead design, coordination and technical delivery across complex building and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of potable water, irrigation, drainage, stormwater, wastewater, fire water and related utility networks, ensuring compliance with codes, standards and client expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design of water‑related MEP systems, including potable, hot/cold, irrigation, stormwater, sewer, fire water and pumping solutions.
• Prepare and review calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Conduct hydraulic assessments and size water supply and drainage networks.
• Coordinate with architects, civil, structural engineers, utilities, authorities and contractors to resolve clashes and interface issues.
• Support BIM coordination, design integration and interdisciplinary workshops.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and technical queries.
• Assist with permitting, authority approvals and value‑engineering initiatives.
• Provide technical guidance during design development, tender, construction, testing, commissioning and hand‑over.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or related engineering discipline.
• 8–12 years of experience in MEP water systems design for building or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience on large‑scale or complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of water design standards, local authority requirements and international codes.
