Senior PHP Backend Developer – Riyadh

About the role

FileCloud is seeking an enthusiastic Senior PHP Backend Developer to join its Growth & Expansion team in Riyadh. You will design and implement server‑side functionality for our hyper‑secure enterprise file‑sync and share platform, ensuring scalability and reliability across cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop elegant, efficient, and bullet‑proof PHP code for new features and product extensions.
• Integrate with databases, file systems, and cloud services (AWS/Azure) to deliver robust solutions.
• Solve complex architectural challenges and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve customer‑reported issues, delivering timely patches.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams using tools such as PHPStorm, Git, PHPUnit, Solr, Memcache, and MongoDB.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of web application development, with a focus on PHP.
• Strong knowledge of automation testing, client‑server architecture, OOP and design patterns.
• Excellent spoken and written English communication skills.
• Comfortable using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot) in daily workflow.
