Senior Traffic Engineer – Infrastructure Projects

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer with over eight years of experience to lead traffic and transport studies for major infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. The role involves delivering traffic impact assessments, operational analyses, and transport modelling for roads, intersections, and corridors while collaborating with multidisciplinary design teams and clients.

Key responsibilities

• Develop traffic reports, impact studies, surveys, and methodology documents.
• Perform travel demand modelling using PTV VISUM, EMME and related tools.
• Conduct traffic operational analysis with Sidra, Synchro, HCS and PTV VISSIM.
• Carry out parking demand and supply studies, design parking within buildings and determine access points.
• Prepare traffic signage, road marking plans and Temporary Traffic Control Plans (TTCP).
• Liaise with Saudi local authorities (RCRC, RCMC, Municipalities, MOT) and ensure compliance with KSA standards.
• Support project managers, attend client meetings and contribute to project documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience, including at least 5 years on major road/transport projects in the GCC.
• Proven experience with large‑scale master planning, mega projects and mixed‑use developments.
• Strong knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) and MUTCD KSA, as well as local KSA guidelines (SHC, RCRC, RTGM, RCMC).

Required skills

• Traffic analysis software: PTV VISUM, PTV VISSIM, Synchro, Sidra, HCS, EMME.
• Transport modelling and travel demand forecasting.
• Parking demand/supply analysis and design.
• Preparation of traffic signage, road markings and TTCP.
• Familiarity with micro‑mobility devices (bicycles, e‑bikes, e‑scooters).
