SMP Supervisor – Mining & Construction

About the role

The SMP Supervisor will coordinate subcontractor planning, safety, quality and technical activities on a large green‑field gold mining project in Saudi Arabia. The role ensures that structural steel, mechanical equipment, piping and HVAC installations are executed safely, on schedule and to project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise structural steel erection, including receiving, laydown, pre‑assembly, sequencing, temporary stability and final installation.
• Oversee installation, alignment and commissioning of mechanical equipment such as crushers, SAG mills, conveyors, pumps and compressors.
• Supervise piping installation activities, including material control, spool fit‑up, supports, valve installation and field welding.
• Coordinate heavy‑lifting and rigging operations using crawler, mobile, tower cranes, SPMTs and other specialized lifting systems.
• Support HVAC system installation, testing and commissioning, covering AHUs, ductwork, chilled water piping and related components.
• Maintain preservation and integrity of all installed materials during storage, installation and pre‑commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with quality requirements, inspection and test plans, NCR resolution and turnover documentation.
• Monitor construction performance, productivity, manpower and equipment utilization, and develop short‑term construction plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or international equivalent) with 8‑10 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to conduct extensive field inspections, work at heights, in confined spaces and in hot, humid Middle‑East conditions while using required PPE.
• Proven experience supervising structural steel, mechanical equipment, piping and HVAC installations on large‑scale mining or processing projects.
