About the role
Canonical is building a new generation of Ubuntu‑based container images to simplify open‑source application deployment. As a Software Engineer you will create and maintain these images, ensuring high quality, performance, and security while collaborating with internal and external teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain a growing portfolio of Ubuntu container images.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for container image delivery.
- Work closely with multiple teams to guarantee seamless Ubuntu user experience.
- Contribute to fast‑moving products such as Rocks (OCI images) and help steer the team’s direction.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Required profile
- Strong software development background with experience in open‑source projects.
- Passion for delivering high‑quality, community‑driven products.
- Ability to collaborate across distributed teams and lead junior members.
