Transport & Mobility Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Transport & Mobility Engineer to support traffic‑engineering and mobility‑improvement projects across Riyadh. The role combines field observations, data analysis and engineering judgment to develop practical transportation solutions for a large‑city environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support traffic‑engineering assessments at intersections, corridors, highways and public‑transport interfaces, reviewing counts, turning‑movement, speed and crash data.
• Conduct field inspections, document geometric constraints, lane‑use issues, pedestrian conditions and access conflicts.
• Develop and review improvement concepts such as lane‑use changes, turn‑lane modifications, signal‑timing adjustments and access‑management measures.
• Prepare technical sketches, maps, calculations and concise engineering narratives to communicate findings and recommendations.
• Assist senior engineers with Synchro, GIS, spreadsheet and other analytical tools to test and compare improvement options.
• Coordinate with roadway, signal, ITS, public‑transport, parking and construction specialists to ensure integrated solutions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation or Traffic Engineering or a closely related field.
• 6‑8 years of professional experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning or mobility analysis.
• Proven ability to conduct field investigations in live urban traffic environments and translate observations into engineering recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Required skills

• Traffic‑analysis software such as Synchro, SimTraffic, Vissim or HCS.
• AutoCAD and/or GIS for preparing engineering exhibits.
• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word for analysis and reporting.
• Familiarity with Python, Power BI, traffic‑video analytics or probe‑data tools (desired).
