Construction Manager – Steelworks (High‑rise Projects)

About the role

Parsons is seeking an experienced Construction Manager – Steelworks to lead on‑site construction activities for a high‑rise steel structure project. The role focuses on planning, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring quality, safety and schedule compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Direct overall planning of construction activities, identifying critical milestones and priorities.
• Determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.
• Ensure subcontractors and major equipment services are available to maximise efficiency and productivity.
• Assign Construction Superintendents, monitor progress and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct performance evaluations, recommend promotions and salary actions.
• Manage allocation of manpower, materials and equipment to meet schedule and budget goals.
• Identify potential problem areas early and take preventative action to meet critical milestones.
• Apply sound construction practices to achieve quality control at maximum efficiency and minimum cost.
• Prepare periodic progress reports for senior management and clients.
• Implement company and client policies, including labour‑relations procedures.
• Serve as primary contact with client, subcontractor and government representatives, maintaining strong relationships.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering from a recognised university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience on steelworks for high‑rise and complex building projects.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction processes and industry practices.
• Proven leadership and management capability.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
