Freelance Bot Developer (WhatsApp / Telegram / Discord)

About the role

Mindrift is seeking experienced freelance Bot Developers to create and maintain conversational bots for WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord and similar platforms. You will work remotely as an "AI Pilot", collaborating with human agents to deliver reliable, production‑ready messaging solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and refine bots for WhatsApp Business/Cloud API, Telegram Bot API, Discord and related platforms.
• Create conversational flows, manage dialogue state and implement fallback handling.
• Integrate bots with large language models such as OpenAI or Anthropic for natural‑language responses.
• Connect bots to backend services, databases, CRMs and third‑party APIs (booking, payment, content sources).
• Handle webhooks, rate limits and platform‑specific message formats (buttons, media, templates).
• Evaluate and refactor AI‑generated code to ensure correctness, reliability and graceful error handling.
• Implement logging, monitoring and recovery mechanisms to keep bots healthy in production.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in backend or bot development.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field is a plus.

Required skills

• Python or Node.js for backend bot logic.
• REST APIs, webhooks, OAuth and asynchronous request handling.
• WhatsApp Business API / Cloud API, Telegram Bot API, Discord API (or similar platforms).
• Experience integrating LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic or comparable).
• Backend integration with databases, CRMs and third‑party services.
