Manager – Project Management & Facility Planning

About the role

The Manager – Project Management & Facility Planning will lead Front-End Loading (FEL) activities for capital projects in mining and industrial settings. The role supports project development leadership, provides oversight to Project Management Teams, and works closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of dashboards tracking active and future project pipelines.
• Define and structure study scopes for upcoming projects and create standardized PMT organisational templates.
• Prepare manpower histograms to align resources with project requirements.
• Provide oversight of project progress, performance and advise PMT teams on engineering, management and market challenges.
• Collaborate with internal development functions on execution planning, asset optimisation and framework agreements.
• Lead tender and contract preparation, including scope of work, execution strategies and technical evaluation criteria.
• Manage inter‑departmental communication and reporting to enable Project Managers to focus on execution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 20 years of experience, with at least 15 years in mining, petrochemical, construction or other heavy/high‑technology industries.
• Proven track record managing capital projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of engineering practices, design standards and international codes.
• Experience in project risk management and multi‑project prioritisation.
• Practical understanding of safety and environmental standards.
• Proficiency with project control tools such as Primavera and MS Project.
• Fluent written and verbal communication in English.
