Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and validating mechanical systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with international engineering codes and standards. The role involves working on HVAC, fire‑fighting, plumbing and drainage systems from concept through detailed design.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare mechanical designs for projects in line with approved engineering standards.
• Perform preliminary and detailed calculations for HVAC, fire‑fighting, plumbing and drainage systems.
• Calculate cooling loads, select appropriate equipment, and design duct and piping networks.
• Produce execution drawings, coordinate with other disciplines, and review mechanical materials and equipment.
• Ensure designs comply with codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC/UPC.
• Use specialized engineering software for design and modelling.
• Collaborate with project teams and consultants to maintain design quality.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and specifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in mechanical design for engineering projects.
• Preferable background in engineering consulting, real‑estate development or commercial projects.

Required skills

• HVAC system design and calculations.
• Fire‑fighting system design.
• Plumbing and drainage design.
• Cooling load calculation.
• Duct sizing and piping network design.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, IPC/UPC standards.
• Proficiency with engineering design software.
