Python Developer – AI Expert (Remote, Part‑time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Python developer to join a customer’s engineering team on a part‑time contract. The role is fully remote and focuses on building and improving backend APIs while collaborating with an AI research group to test next‑generation developer tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise RESTful and GraphQL endpoints for scalable backend services.
• Implement robust data validation, error handling and security best practices.
• Plan and execute database migrations, performance tuning and schema changes.
• Test AI‑powered coding models in the Cursor environment, report incidents, bugs and screenshots.
• Participate in intensive 4‑day testing bursts and provide post‑burst survey feedback.
• Engage with the research team via Slack to discuss findings and suggest improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear incident reporting.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, confidential remote setting.
• Enthusiasm for AI advancements in software development.
