About the role
The Senior Director of Audit & Assurance will lead the strategic direction and operational excellence of our audit practice, focusing on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Zakat compliance, and the regulatory requirements of listed companies. Reporting to senior leadership, you will manage a diverse team of audit professionals, ensure adherence to regulatory standards, and drive innovative audit solutions that enhance client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic plans for the audit and assurance function aligned with organisational goals and industry standards.
- Oversee planning, execution, and reporting of audit engagements, ensuring compliance with IFRS, Zakat, and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead the creation of innovative audit methodologies and tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain strong relationships with key clients, delivering tailored audit solutions that meet their business needs.
- Facilitate risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies while fostering a culture of compliance and ethics.
- Provide expert guidance and technical support to audit team members on complex issues.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, to enhance audit quality.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes, proactively adapting audit practices.
Required profile
- 15+ years of progressive audit and assurance experience, including senior leadership roles in a reputable accounting firm.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS, Zakat regulations, and compliance requirements for listed companies.
- Proven track record of managing large‑scale audits, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities with the capacity to interpret complex financial information.
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross‑functional teams and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience in leading, mentoring, and developing high‑performing audit teams.
