Senior Ophthalmology Registrar

About the role

The Senior Ophthalmology Registrar provides high‑quality inpatient care within NMC Hospitals and Clinics, ensuring compliance with professional ethics, JCIA/CBAHI standards, and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations. The role involves independent patient management as well as collaboration with senior consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Admit emergency and elective patients, conduct history taking, physical examinations, and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and document investigation plans, diagnosis, and management courses.
• Conduct daily ward rounds, maintain accurate medical records, and update progress notes.
• Prepare discharge summaries, death reports, and special reports when required.
• Participate in on‑call rota, respond to emergencies, and provide OPD care as directed.
• Assist senior consultants with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and perform procedures within granted privileges.
• Supervise junior staff and ensure patient rights, confidentiality, and privacy are upheld.

Required profile

• Medical professional adhering to JCIA/CBAHI standards and Saudi Ministry of Health regulations.
• Ability to work under the supervision and instructions of assigned consultants.
• Commitment to delivering compassionate, high‑quality patient care.

Required skills

• History taking and physical examination in ophthalmology.
• Interpretation of common diagnostic tests.
