About the role

The Chairman of Pediatrics leads the department in line with the hospital’s vision, mission and strategic goals. This senior position combines high‑level administrative oversight with active clinical duties as a consultant pediatrician.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall supervision of professional care and ensure quality diagnosis and treatment for out‑patients.
• Direct staff to deliver optimal patient care in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
• Manage patient admission, consultation, daily care, and discharge processes.
• Initiate investigations, perform procedures/surgeries as authorized, and follow‑up on results.
• Lead postgraduate training, continuing medical education, and mentorship of residents, fellows and junior staff.
• Promote and host national and international medical conferences and symposia.
• Drive clinical, basic and translational research initiatives and oversee publication of findings.
• Develop the department’s strategic plan, set goals and objectives, and ensure alignment with the hospital’s overall strategy.

Required profile

• Board‑certified pediatrician with extensive clinical experience.
• Proven leadership and administrative experience in a large medical department.
• Strong academic background with involvement in teaching and research.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
