Financial Director

About the role

The Finance Director will lead the full finance function of a large contracting firm operating in Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on cash‑flow management, project finance control, financial planning, reporting, budgeting, compliance and strategic financial leadership for mega‑construction projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead finance, accounting, budgeting, treasury, taxation and reporting functions.
• Plan and monitor cash flow to ensure liquidity for ongoing and upcoming mega projects.
• Oversee project cash flow, receivables, payables, funding requirements and working capital.
• Prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, business plans and long‑term financial strategies.
• Review project financial performance, including revenue recognition, cost control, margins, profitability and cash position.
• Coordinate with project directors, commercial, contracts, procurement and operations teams to align financial objectives.
• Manage banking relationships, credit facilities, guarantees, bonds, letters of credit and project financing.
• Ensure timely preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
• Oversee risk management, internal controls, audit processes and compliance with KSA regulations, tax laws, VAT and ZATCA requirements.
• Support tendering and commercial teams with financial evaluation, pricing strategy, cash‑flow projections and risk assessment.
• Review subcontractor, supplier and client payments, collections and claims‑related financial matters.
• Lead external audit coordination and develop financial policies, systems, procedures and control frameworks.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior management and mentor the finance and accounting team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related field; professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA) highly preferred.
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration is an advantage.
• Minimum 18 years of finance and accounting experience, with strong background in GCC construction/contracting firms.
• Proven experience managing financial operations for mega‑projects, cash‑flow management and cost control.
